...ARTIST STATEMENT...

It takes a lot for me to believe in art.
It has to breathe.
It has to practically bleed.
It has to appear alive or half dead to matter.

Fluid materials convince me my art is real.
Honey, tears, sweat, semen, water, milk and ice.
Liquid fills membranes now bloated.
Impregnated, they stretch and pull.

Our body is reflected in this tension.
Growth succumbs to decay, decay becomes growth.
Over time, it dries and shrivels
As new forms and meaning emerge.
